It was a cold and windy day this morning at the Forest City Road Races, but our Heart-Links runners and volunteers braved the weather and raised more than $1500 for Peruvians in need.

Janet Tufts, James Madden, and Nikki Tufts completed the half-marathon and Nelson Lopez Taylor (at 12 years old, our youngest runner) completed the 5K. Heart-Links volunteers Susan Price, Fraser Macdonald, Alma Gutiérrez, Rose Makini, Maddy Say and Shannon Madeley were on hand too, making sure the race was a success for everybody involved.

The pledges our team collected will go to our 2017 Emergency Fund, which is dedicated to helping our Peruvians friends recover from severe flooding earlier this year in their communities.

Thank you, team, for a stellar job and thank you to all the people out there who donated!
