This after-school program for children from 6 to 13 years of age in Aviación, Mocupe and Zaña is run by the newly founded Madre Oliva Association.
Twenty children at each location receive support in reading, mathematics and art, along with a nutritious snack. Additional resource staff, including a psychologist, give workshops in such topics as self-esteem, feelings and emotions, positive leadership and healthy eating.
Liaison is maintained with the participating children’s schools, where significant improvement has been noted in the behaviour and learning of many of the children.
